A STRUCTURAL EQUATION MODEL FOR TECHNICAL WRITING COMPETENCY OF STUDENTS

The general purpose of this study is to investigate the best fit model for ability students in technical writing that used structural equation modeling (SEM) as basis design instrument analyzing relationship between affective factors, teacher communication behavior, vocabulary learning strategies and competency. A descriptive-causal stratified random sampling technique were select 400 students. Four questionnaires collect data through an e-survey. Mean, standard deviation, Pearson product-moment correlation multiple regression analysis also analyze collected. It was found all variables are at a high level which means respondents often exhibiting them. teachers strategy have significant with competency writing. most appropriate 5 attitude skill indicators. Motivation self-confidence indicators factor. Challenging, encouragement praise, understanding friendly behavior communication. Vocabulary cognitive, metacognitive, memory, determination only indicates factor, plays important role KEYWORDS: education, strategies, competency, SEM, Philippines.
